The Design Journey

A woman in a white dress walking through a garden archway into a green, leafy path with sunlight filtering through.

The journey begins with an initial consultation, acting as a step in understanding and exploring your space. We discuss your needs, aspirations and any specific conditions such a budget and project timing

I

Discovering : Consultation

Architectural plans and blueprints on a desk with a notebook, a tape dispenser, and a book titled 'From Concept to Form in Landscape Design'.

An in-depth site analysis shall be undertaken through the means of a professional topographical survey and any other relevant surveys.

Such surveys involve carefully measuring and assessing the garden’s existing conditions—such as levels, boundaries, soil, sunlight, drainage, and key features and are essential in providing a detailed and accurate map for the design.

II

Uncovering: Site Analysis

A detailed landscape plan of a backyard featuring parking for two cars near the house, a gravel garden, vegetable beds, a sculpture, a secret hideaway seating area, a lawn, a natural pond retreat, a Jurassic woodland firepit, a productive garden, and various trees and pathways.

The outline design phase develops the initial concept into a bespoke and structured plan, defining the garden’s layout, key features, and overall aesthetic before progressing into detailed design.

Each element is chosen with purpose with form, texture and flow expressing the garden’s unique identity.

An outline design or masterplan shall be presented including a mood board, material examples, perspective drawings and sectional elevations.

Several design iterations can be requested, during the outline design consultation allowing the client to provide feedback before proceeding further.

VI

The Creation: Build

A tree with twisted branches and small leaves growing next to a white stucco wall with four rustic stone steps embedded in it.

This chapter of this journey closes as the garden is handed over; however gardens are living designs.

They’re intended to mature gracefully — plants grow, textures shift, and the space develops character over time.
